As a writer, do you find that you come up with a title before or after you've written your book?

The title is usually the last, or close to the last, thing I come up with.

Titles are hard. Eunice and I came up with the title for immechanica before the first draft was done, but that’s unusual—we don’t usually settle on a title until after the first draft is done, sometimes later than that.

One exception: my Talespinner and I came up with the title of the novel we’re currently working on, Spin, back when we were still thinking of it as a YA novel, before we scrapped that idea and re-cast it as a much larger, and much darker, literary novel.
