Why do the narcissist that I know have no hobbies or skills or talents to really speak of?

Narcissists are opportunistic. They cling on to those with talent and skills for personal gain. They are also hedonistic in nature and really only want to do the bare minimum so would not take the time and effort to learn a skill.

For instance, you may have a narcissistic friend who always comes to your music gigs to watch you play. They will drink the free drinks and party with you while saying I wish I could play like you. When the music is over and drinks are finished they are gone. Off to the next gig with someone else.

I’ve also noticed that the skill a narcissist has is calm. They seem to be able to get others to do the things they need so have no need to learn a skill or talent as it’s a waste of their time when they can get someone else to help.
