Did you try to publish an AI-written book? How did it go?

As an Author Success Manager, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the AI-writing trend, and we’ve learned a lot from our experience.

Last year, we tried publishing an AI-assisted book, but we took a thoughtful approach: using AI for brainstorming while ensuring human creativity and guidance were at the heart of the process.

What Worked:

AI helped us map out plot structures.

It came up with some really creative plot twists.

It made the research process much quicker.

What Didn’t:

The raw AI-generated content didn’t have that emotional touch.

The character development felt a bit flat and robotic.

It still needed a lot of human rewriting to bring it to life.

Key Takeaway:

AI can definitely be a helpful partner, but it works best as a support tool, not a replacement. Our most successful authors use AI for ideas and research, while keeping their own unique voice and storytelling front and center.

Bottom Line: AI can definitely boost the writing process, but true human creativity and emotional connection are still key to creating stories that truly resonate with readers.
