What do I do when I’m stuck in writing an essay?

Play the “Cut Every Corner” song from The Simpsons and start writing the most half-assed essay you can.

Once you’re done, take a break and go do something else.

Did you enjoy your break? Good. Now look at your essay.

It’s garbage.

“Whoever wrote this is an idiot” you’ll say to yourself as you start fixing it up.

“Obviously it would be much better written this way.”

“You can’t just leave out that point, add it in here.”

Work your way through the essay and fix up that loser’s terrible work.

Pretty soon you’ll have a half-decent essay.

Then take a break, come back, and do the same thing.

After a couple of rounds, you’ll be done.
