How has the emergence of AI-assisted writing tools changed the dynamics between literary agents, publishers, and authors since 2020?

Every professional writer in the creative fields such as fiction books, movies, theater, radio, poetry, lyrics, etc. has a drawer full of unfinished ideas ranging from concepts to ‘work in progress’

Some ideas get absorbed into new projects Some get updated but are still just ideas The effort to update or reconsider these ideas is too much to do unless it is a pet project or the markets are still open to such work as writers follow fashions as with everything

The AI arrives and offers instant renovation Is the idea still relevant and is the market open to it? Can the idea be searched and checked for grammar? rephrased, summarized, translated, have added images? Can it be emailed to an agent, editor, publisher, etc?

AI is to writers what microwave ovens, blenders and all the automated cooking utensils are for cooks

But there are also hidden serendipitous effects of AI for writers If there are two characters in a book with different views the characters can be used to express ideas on social forums and automatically get responses that can be used for the characters

Using AI to do the research for a book to do the proofreading and editing to supply placeholder images to contact publishers, agents, licensors, and relevant Writing Societies

to do instant translations to offer self-publishing facilities to have a range of writing tools to be able to dictate instead of typing to rephrase for different markets

and to review and reincarnate those old ideas that are in a drawer labeled R.I.P

Yes, AI has changed the Writing industry to the point that anyone can become a writer but not everyone has something to say I doubt if AI will have much effect on that
