Weirdly enough I see this kind of thought most often from other Quorans who are about to leave the site lol.
I don’t see Quora as a waste of time. Quora is mostly a hobby and partly self-promotion for me. As far as the hobby goes, I don’t see how a hobby could be a waste of time — it’s not like I’m skipping work to write or read Quora posts, and if I were to quit Quora tomorrow I’m not gonna pick up some side-hustle instead.
If Quora were in the way of me accomplishing some larger goal than it would be a waste of time. But it isn’t, so it’s not.
I have considered the idea that I’m wasting money by writing on Quora for free instead of focusing on an income-generating source of writing, but even there, I have the largest audience on Quora anyway so… not using Quora would be shooting myself in the foot from a long-term perspective. Sometimes I throw up my publications in a Quora post and get some interest that way, so it all works out in the end anyway.
No, Quora is decent to me in this sense. Certainly not a waste of anything.
