Why does nobody want to read my writing in real life when they're family and I need a second opinion?

It’s actually very rare that family want to read anything a family member writes.

It’s even rarer that what they say after reading is helpful.

Family are actually the last people you need an opinion from. So are friends.

They have their own agendas regarding you. Some only want to make you happy so they tell you what they think you want to hear. Some just want to piss you off. Some are actively sabotaging you. Or trying to convince you that you can’t write. Or setting you up for a huge fall.

If you really want an opinion on your writing, find a BETA READER. That’s their job.
