Is it necessary to be skilled at something in order to enjoy it, or can someone still enjoy an activity even if they are not good at it (such as reading)?

Hey, you don’t have to be skilled at something to enjoy it!

The truth is the more you try, the more you will start enjoying any activity. But this may not be true all the time. Take for example you are more inclined towards studying an Arts subject and you took up Science, the chances are you might lose interest in Science and start hating it more than before.

But if you are wholeheartedly interested in trying something new about which you have ‘some’ knowledge, chances are you will end up loving it. I say ‘some knowledge’ because you wouldn’t have shown the willingness to try and enjoy something again unless you already knew something about it.

You must have noticed that a person’s ‘interest’ plays a role in whether he/she will enjoy something. Right? Exactly! The same applies in the case of reading as well.

If you are not a habitual reader and reading is not your hobby, don’t worry. You will enjoy reading as long as what you are reading aligns and resonates with what you ‘want’ to read. It’s as simple as that!
