In totality, my remarks favor the scenario as here:
Knowing shortcomings is not a bad thing. However, losing confidence is another thing. Therefore, it is paradoxically confusing to answer directly. Let us assume that being bad at everything that is done is purely hypothetical. So, there is room for exuding some confidence. However, being doubly sure would be helpful to further affirm before higher level of determination is reached.
In my opinion, feeling confident is useful where you are able to apply probability and manage to ensure doubly.
