Simple things can make a big difference. Use the right kitchen tool for the job at hand; a sharp knife, peeler, temperature appropriate bowls, correct size pots and pans. Don’t be afraid of salt. Use the right heat for what you’re cooking; high heat for a sear, lower heat for braising, roasting, etc. Cut your food into sizes that ensure everything cooks evenly.
Don’t underestimate the power of your food’s appearance and its smell as they are part of the “taste”. Learn the flavor and smells of the various seasonings and herbs. So, you can better learn to add more or less to suit your tastes.
