How do I not be discouraged by the learning curve of the skills I want? I know it takes time to be good at the things you love but how I can quote, "Embrace a growth mindset"?

If you truly love them then you love them regardless of how good or bad you are at them and you want to spend all your time on them and wold even do them for free.

If you are discouraged by the learning curve that means you are not that passionate about those things because someone truly passionate about say art does art no matter what, no matter how good they are or how much or how little others like their art.

Find things you are truly passionate about and then you wouldn't have that problem.

For example I like cooking. I am not good at it, I don’t care. I don’t plan to be professional chef, cooking brings joy to me.

Same with hiking. I do it because I like it. There are many others that are way better at it than I am. I don’t care, I do it because it brings me joy.

When I was going to art school when I told the counselors I wanted to do web design because it pays good, the said I would always be at a disadvantage against those truly passionate in it because they would be willing to do it for free.

If you really are passionate about something you don’t care about the ‘growth mindset’ or the learning curve, you get pure joy just doing it. Find that thing and do it.
