I will tell you few hacks that I follow to save money in Bangalore.
Take a PG or shared rented apartment to live. Personally I do not like PG’s food and also I don’t have friends in Bangalore so I decided to take a small flat (1 RK) to live in. Rent won’t go much higher than 10–12K for 1 RK, almost equivalent to PG’s rent. (‘Stay away from Brokers’)
Cook you own food : I cook my own food which is healthy as well as hygienic.
Avoid Swiggy/Zomato as much as you can. Buying food from here is not only wasting your money but also making you sick.
Avoid going to Pubs, Malls, expensive restaurants etc (unless its sponsored by your company :) ).
Avoid Ola/Uber, rather travel in BMTC AC buses. Its safe, comfortable and also very much convenient. Bangalore has good connectivity via BMTC buses.
Instead of high charging cabs, use Namma Metro, which is again very convenient and also comfortable.
Instead of buying expensive clothes from malls prefer discovering places which offer you quality at very affordable rate. One of my favourite such places for shopping is Jayanagar.
Do not forget to apply for the “Gruha Jyoti Scheme” to get subsidy on your monthly electricity consumption.
Avoid going for Zepto/BigBasket . Buy your groceries from local market, this way you can get fresh vegetables and fruits and also can save a lot.
Try to get second hand furniture and electrical appliances. In Bangalore you can get these things as second hand very easily. Also in a very good condition and price even less than half.
PS : I will keep on adding more points with time :)
I am attaching photos of some of my home cooked recipes. Hope you all will like it.
