Ease into it, start slowly. If you try to be all gung ho all at first and you hate it, it’s not going to work and you’re going to be miserable. I started out by reducing my portions slowly making them smaller and smaller. I ate my meals on smaller plate, there’s nothing more depressing than having a nearly empty plate. I had already cut out sugar and really lightened my carbs I think that helped. I started out eating 3 or even 4 small meals a day then lowered it to 3 meals and a small snack.
The most important thing to do is shrinking your stomach and once that happens the cravings kind of go away. You’ll still get them but they get less and less frequent. If you have a really strong craving for something even if it’s something that’s not good for you eat it anyway but just have small portion.
I lost over 300 pounds in not much more than year by not eating and exercising more.
