Is insight a prerequisite to the truth?

Yup. Without insight you cannot see clearly, and the truth is not very obvious until then. We all have blind spots, preferences, needs, beliefs, things we cling to in the hope that these will fix us and our life. And we all try to avoid any truth that interferes with our wishful thinking.

Insight pierces through delusions and ignorance, but it takes work and TIME. And patience, persistence, self-discipline, self-honesty and emotional courage.

To stand naked with no solid ground under your feet .. that takes courage. I’ll let you know how much, if I ever achieve full insight. But if the teachings are right, it won’t be in THIS lifetimes, and probably not the next one either … so you better leave a forwarding address!
