Is smartness more about knowledge or the ability to adapt quickly?

Smartness, in my opinion, is a complex conglomeration of many qualities, including adaptability, knowledge, comprehension, speed to reach conclusions, reaching solutions, controlling situations and so on. It may be more about knowledge, but having solution-based approach also is significantly predominant in smart people. They have speed of understanding problems and issues.

In our office milieu, we used to call them also close to being ‘go-getters’.
