Can someone effectively learn a subject they are not interested in? How can one improve their studying habits if they lack interest in a particular field of knowledge?

the advice I am sharing with you helped me study English Literature at GCSE (I did not like studying this, before)

the advice may or may not help you 😅

Since your asking this question, I am assuming you want to do better in this subject you lack interest in (same situation I was in)

The first step is finding a way to improve

Let me give my example:

I didn't like English Literature and was getting average marks

I wanted to improve

Asked my teacher how to improve

Watched videos on how to improve/videos about English Literature and the syllabus (Mr Salles Teaches English)

And through these videos, this is how I began developing an interest…

From the videos, I realised that I was missing an important step when writing my answers - exploring alternative interpretations of a quote.

The thing is…

When you realise you were missing something before, and then implement it, your brain thinks this is now going to be my time to improve in this area/subject/field (this makes you excited about this subject)

And it helped that the videos were quite engaging and his style of presenting and talking

And when I started seeing an improvement in my marks, I felt like I can get a top grade, if I put more effort.

So I kept watching these videos = I wanted to study this subject now

Once you realise an opportunity to improve in an area, you will want to pursue that area.

Hope that helps, Somya 😄
