Here’s something that is terribly shocking, and politically incorrect to the extreme:

Fifty percent of the population is below the average intelligence for that population!

This should be blindingly obvious. Yet everyone would like to think that we are all above average. That is a statistical impossibility.

There is good money and lots of votes to be had in flattering people into thinking they are smarter than they actually are.
