This is a terribly vague question, but in a vague reply, I would say that philosophy helps to understand more clearly and specifically the questions we ask ourselves, and hence it provides a pathway to answering the questions in a sensible way. I am reminded of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, in which finding the ultimate answer to life, the Universe, and everything was relatively easy, only taking a few million years, but after hearing the answer was forty two, people realised they did not know the question, and had to build Earth to work out what the question is.
