You may actually know the answer before hand.
What do you seek, what do you want? Do you have negative stuff you'd like to purge, bring clarity to?
Sometimes writing it down brings the perspective of being an audience member to your play.
It takes significant work repeated to gain a different perspective and then truth that you're seeking ways is a start.
For some, "putting it on paper" makes it all more real, both the negative and the sought out positive, an avenue, a method, a process personal and so unique to you.
Yes it can because you seek it while keeping in mind it's possible for you.
You may need to read what you've written right away, you may need to read it at a later date or just putting your thoughts and feelings temporarily out of your mind and heart somewhere else (diary, journal, scribble pad) could be enough.
The biggest step is knowing that you'd like more positive, less negative, even considering you are capable of making that happen is your gateway.
I don't believe it's ever hopeless when you allow what is actually possible in not just confronting negative thoughts and feelings, but the room you can make for positive thoughts and feelings as part of your unique and personal process.
I have journaled, scribbled not knowing at first how it helped until the pen started moving….
