Is it acceptable to have someone else write the preface for your book?

Hi. I believe it’s acceptable to have someone else write a foreword for your book if that person can add credibility to what you’re asserting or to you as an expert/someone knowledgeable enough to write on the topic. The point of having someone else write the foreword is to convince readers you know what you’re talking about, so you should pick someone who’s recognized in the field and who can attest to your knowledge.
