Decide on the genre of fiction you are planning to write - adventure, fantasy, romance, horror, comedy, thriller, etc., Don't end up mixing genres and confuse the readers. Keep it simplistic to begin with.
Never reveal it is fictional till you get to the last line of the answer. That way you will maintain the suspense of the readers who will wholeheartedly appreciate you for the reading experience.
Make it as realistic and relatable as possible that no reader gets a doubt till they finish reading the answer.
Allow the characters ( including yourself adds to the appeal) to converse with each other. Conversations are easy to peruse and comprehend than paragraphs. ( This is my personal opinion).
Complete it with an apt and a thoughtful summarisation of the answer prior to the final revelation.
Coming out with your own unique style of fictional writing takes time and practice. Till then read other fictional answers here and stories outside of Quora to understand the kind of techniques writers use to keep their readers engaged.
But from my observations, as per the current trend, fictional answers have only a minimal reach. Your readers would mostly be confined to the teen and the youth writers here. Most other adult readers prefer personal real life experience answers that would be of some help to them.
The popular fictional writers of Quora no longer write here due to lack of views and the change in the readers’ preferences. They have moved to other sites like Instagram that has a phenomenal reach for such writings, if you are exceptionally good. One example that comes to my mind is the writer Divyansh Mundra
He has himself said in several of his answers that he could bag web series and screenwriting jobs after he moved to Instagram. You can check his profile and read some of his experiences.
