Is there a way to successfully write the "love at first sight" trope? How would you write? What are some things to focus on or avoid? Are there any good literary examples or screen examples of it?

Very few people that I have read have handled that trope as “infatuation at first sight” which is a great deal more accurate than “love at first sight.” Believe it or not Romeo and Juliet is a good example of handling it that way. More mature characters in the play comment frequently on the situation, including the hare-brained Mercutio.
