Is it worth pursuing a career as a writer if it is not financially lucrative?

hmmm there are thousands of people that have careers as writers. I am sure quite a few had tremendous growing pains and poverty spells on the way up. But they loved the profession, so they stuck with it.

So THAT’S the answer: assuming you have enough talent: you will persevere through the tough times, and make a decent living at last. One assumption, and that applies to any career or pursuit: you have to have a passion for what you do …. the money will come.
