With reference to the above, Karnataka state has successfully conducted Identification and Assessment camp in the state for the year 2022-23, to identify the probable beneficiaries in need of Aids and Appliances.
The camp was organised in all the 204 educational Blocks, with the support of team of Experts/ Doctors along with team from ALIMCO and it was conducted from November 2022 to January 2023. 11,938 students were identified as the beneficiaries in the camp.
As per reference (2) ALIMCO was released 40% of the total amount by the respective district DDPIs. ALIMCO had assured to supply the materials within 60 days of receiving the advance amount. But, delayed the process by 8 months and started despatching the Aids and Appliances in batches from the first week of August, 2023. As per the recent updates received from ALIMCO, this would be completed by January, 2024.
There is a positive opinion on the quality of the materials received from all the districts. But, due to delayed supply children are not getting full benefits.
So, I request the ministry to take measures to guide ALIMCO on the inordinate delay in supply of Aids and Appliances, so that the beneficiaries receive the required support on time.
