Not every writer suffers from the problem, but it’s very common in would-be writers who lack ideas but are keen to write, and it’s not uncommon in successful writers who’ve used up their ideas and struggle to find more. Some writers won’t live long enough to use up all their ideas, so if they get stuck with one story for a while they can simply switch to another and come back to the first one later. One way to avoid getting into such difficulty though is not to start on a book until you’ve got enough of it planned to leave no room for getting stuck.
