What did you learn from writing your first novels?

That its a long journey with more bumps and corners than unfinished country road and how to drink coffee properly….the second was about the same…there is also a ton of technical stuff to figure out too long to list here. But that said I learned (for me) that if I write my novel like I was writing to a friend to tell them a story it comes easier.
