I am not sure why anyone would want to be rich? I see no benefit in it. After all, it will not solve all your problems and it is unlikely to make you any happier in life. If you have enough money to pay your bills and maintain a good standard of life then you actually need nothing further.
Anyway, that kind of financial success is mostly a familiar acquaintance with what the ancient Romans referred to as the goddess Fortuna, and what we modern folks refer to when we use the metaphor “Lady Luck.” She can be a very fickle mistress and chooses her beneficiaries somewhat randomly. Still, to some degree, we all make our own luck by means of the choices and actions that we freely choose in life. So she doesn’t get all of the credit. With the right attitude and “can do” spirit you can actually encourage her presence, and, consequently improve your odds toward financial success.
No one should have promised you that the game of life would be fair. It’s not. Nor are there any guarantees in life. Even worse, sometimes the dice are loaded — and not in your favor. That, however, is no excuse for resignation and lack of effort. After all, a negative attitude is just a self-fulfilling prophecy. Believe me, it is better to have tried and failed then it is to not have tried at all. Lady Luck doesn’t like cowards. She favors the courageous.
C’est la vie.
