Many people are already working on the counter arguments while they are listening to others. If you instead focus to comprehend what the other has to say, you will:
Be perceived as a team player.
Better understand the positions of your co-workers and customers.
Come up with better solutions that will be tailored to the needs.
You don’t even need to invest 30 minutes: just try to listen patiently whenever a member of your team is talking to you. And ask questions in order to figure out what they really want to say.
