First, decide which soft and interpersonal skills you want to improve and why.
Is it communication, adaptability, problem-solving, collaboration, work ethic, flexibility, leadership or time management? The list is quite long; these are just some of the parts of soft skills.
After you pick one, use these three simple techniques to make your learning process more manageable.
Pareto principle (80% of consequences, results come from 20% of causes) - Focus on 20% of actions and (learning) habits that bring you 80% of your results. Get rid of distractions.
First principles (break down complex problems/things/subjects/theories into basic elements) - Focus on the essential basic steps, foundations and techniques. If you are stuck, always go back to basics.
The backwards law (“More effort means less reward.”) - Be patient, take your time, and don’t force anything. The results will come.
Reading is one of the best ways to expand your knowledge. It will improve your vocabulary, critical thinking, memory and communication skills.
Journaling. Keep a hand-written journal and describe your experiences. Analyse what's working or holding you back (or what's challenging).
Ask for feedback and find a mentor because they can speed up your learning process.
Network and interact with new people to improve your communication skills.
