I dread running. It is the complete opposite of the exercises I excel at. I can easily spend an hour lifting weights and perform a dozen pull-ups effortlessly. Fifty push-ups are a minor annoyance. But when it comes to running, it's a different story.
Running is like the embodiment of evil in my fitness routine. Each time my feet hit the ground, it's like they're mocking me.
Left foot: Screw you.
Right foot: Screw you.
Left foot: Screw you.
Right foot: Screw you.
Left foot: Screw you.
Right foot: Screw you.
I have no issue with cardio in general. I'm willing to do cardio training without complaints. However, running just messes me up.
My body seems to revolt against me at every step. Running feels like pure torture. Even when I blast Eminem in my earbuds, it's not enough to distract me from the pain. It's just terrible.
Before going on a run, I have to mentally prepare for at least 20 minutes. I give myself a motivational pep talk to psych myself up.
And then, my buddy casually mentions that he got bored last night and ran a whopping 15 miles.
Sigh.
