The art of pretending. It is a child’s game of course and everyone plays it as they learn to cope with the world and become familiar with its rules and how people behave. It also sets status levels between children. It is a social reflection and also allows practice behavior.
My psychology mind hack is ‘Pretending to be rich’. This rather peculiar mind set gives you a perspective which allows you tolerance, generosity, respect for others, discernment and a sense of value.
Actually being rich seems to make people isolated, self centered and likely to play other games, like golden showers.
Young people for ages have been, going into debt, coming into money, spending that, living wasteful, spendthrift lives of excess and remorse, falling into ruin, and then complaining. ‘Pretending to be rich’ should help you to complain less.
