How do I get rid of this laziness and procrastination?

Procrastination is not always bad. It should not exhibit a negative connotation automatically. Sometimes, it’s a red flag or a signal that what you are doing is not interesting, if not irritating, to your mind. It can signal that perhaps biology is not your passion in university, but instead physics is.

Write down goals. Make it Rockefeller style — only 5 goals, but give yourself a deadline. If you don’t have goals, then why are you waking up every day?

Accept what you can’t change and change what you can — “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.” (Marcus Aurelius)

You reap what you sow but plant as many seeds as you can every day. Time is a very precious currency and it’s irreversible — you can’t buy more time. Treat it like a fragile item. Athletes say that fear is temporary but regret is forever, so make your gains.

Anything worth having is not easy to obtain. In one of the rap lyrics I recently heard, it said “if it was easy, everyone would do it,” which is true. You must want it enough. However, most just want it enough because they don’t do anything to get it.

Move forward one millimeter each day, but every single day. Hard work and discipline beats genius. Sacrifice today for a better tomorrow. Failure is not bad. Hemingway once said, “a man can be destroyed but not defeated.” Fail again. Fail better.
