How do you calm yourself when you are with things that resemble other unpleasant things?

We always get more practice when we need it. Remember, everything is happening for you, not against you. When you start to look from this perspective you can begin to have more of a sense of humor about it. If you aren’t at that level yet, you can always remove yourself from the situation physically or psychologically by taking a deep cleansing breath to clear out the bad feeling (that is all it is). Do this 3 times until you feel more able to revisit from a higher vibrational stance. If not, walk away, and return when more peace has aligned with you.

It sounds easy but if you’ve had your buttons pushed by bullies most of your life, it becomes more complicated. I’m a scapegoat survivor, and still can get hooked when my boundaries are crossed and I don’t have a ‘cool, ready, response’, because the re-wounding is so deep. Still learning how to manage situations at 65 years.

My best default settings are going outside to my garden, reading in bed or curling up with my familiar. One I just forgot, because, it will be starting, a writing group to write with and for. Things have gotten a little bit more complicated since my cat made off for heaven after 13 years of looking after me. He came to me at 5 years, so 18 years is a good life!
