Well, focus is really all about removing needless ideas, thoughts, memories, feelings, people, items, tasks, activities etc. I know this is hard for some people to understand because they think focus means to “focus” on what you are doing right now. That’s not what true focus is actually.
Focus is actually clearing the way for your priorities. It means REMOVING all useless, wasteful, needless nonsense out of your life permanently or at least for the time being until your most important tasks are fulfilled. For that, you have to proactively stay in the present moment and truly remove all the irrelevant stuff out of your mind and out of your sight. ANYTHING that is NOT going to help you finish off your important task MUST be removed from your mind. Otherwise, it’s going to be a huge distraction, and you will never get to concentrate on the urgent matter.
Focus and concentration are different things. They go hand in hand but are different. Focus is REMOVING all the irrelevant stuff out of your sight and mind. Concentration is zooming in and committing to getting your most important task done with no distractions and noise. Ponder this for a few minutes.
