You don't need to commit felony electronic burglary for kicks or to bolster one’s sense of self worth.

The vast majority of ‘hackers’ I have known over my career bore with destroying other people's work around 30 years of age. Others just never get or are truly interested in securing software which can be a good thing but these people are called pentesters, not ethical hackers. The EH thing was started by an Indian certification company and the butt of many a security joke.
