What would professors like their students to know?

We want our students to do well. No one is happy seeing students fail

That students are much smarter than they think, and that's why I often push them

I have one daughter who just graduated from university and one just started university, so I always have empathy for my students. I even worry for my students and often they make me proud, but I'll never show it and I'll never admit it.

Understanding course material also helps in retention of those aspects that need to be memorized. Memorizing without understanding is the worst possible route.

Teaching is a thankless task.
