To gain knowledge about countries, you can approach it from several angles to get a well-rounded understanding:
Read Reliable Sources: Start by exploring trusted travel and cultural websites, like Lonely Planet, National Geographic, and the CIA World Factbook. They provide insights into history, geography, and current events of each country.
Follow Country-Specific News: Subscribe to international news outlets and follow country-specific news on websites like BBC, Al Jazeera, or Google News. Keeping up with current events helps you understand each country’s social, political, and economic climate.
Join Travel and Cultural Forums: Platforms like Reddit, Quora Spaces, and specialized forums provide firsthand experiences from locals and travelers. Joining Quora Spaces focused on travel, culture, and world affairs can help you discover unique perspectives.
Explore Social Media and YouTube: Follow travel influencers, vloggers, and YouTube channels dedicated to different regions or countries. These channels often feature cultural insights, tips, and personal stories from locals.
Read Books and Documentaries: Books, biographies, and documentaries about specific countries or regions offer deep cultural, historical, and societal insights. Look for recommendations online or from reputable sources like Goodreads.
Personally, I use option 4 and 5, as there are many great YouTube channels and travel vloggers videos I watch and get most of knowledge about different countries and sometimes read blogs available on Google for specific countries.
