They can be. The quality of questions we ask ourselves determines the quality of the answers we receive.
If I ask why am I broke? that is a weak question. Your brain will supply you with all kinds of reasons why this is true. But it will not provide the answers you really want. How can I make, accumulate, invest and grow my money? That creates channels of thought that can be productive and beneficial to wealth.
Why can’t I get to sleep? is not very helpful for solving the insomnia issue. But asking:
Why do I sleep so well?
Why do I get back to sleep so easily?
Why do I sleep until nearly the alarm?
Why is it so easy to relax my body and calm my mind?
Why is sleeping so simple?
why do I sleep so well now?
Why do I wake up refreshed and looking forward to the day ahead?
When my brain supplies those answers, and examples of experiences, etc. I get past that insomnia issue.
These are afformations rather an affirmations. I ask a question assuming conditions that I desire to get past the gate keeper of conciousness and rejection that affirmations often run into.
