If you read a lot about the world, do you still know nothing unless you’ve experienced these things first hand?

Thanks for A2A.

Reading/listening a lot helps. There is no doubt. It is the learnt knowledge. There is some percentage of knowledge gained by that. Reading and then writing will raise the percentage of knowledge to some extent. Imagination and visualization (authenticated by others) may further improve the percentage and quality of knowledge. Deep thinkers may pick up information and correlate with their learnt knowledge to add to what they know.

Knowing nothing does not fit in here. Experienced information/knowledge is another way of acquiring knowledge. Some people remember much better what they have experienced themselves. However, sequential memory is general weak. If writing experiences as records is done regularly and then seen for repetition/referring, that provides is a stronger memory base.

How to end this answer? I have explained that reading also helps, writing also adds to knowledge bucket and experience also has its share in the bucket contents.

Thanks for reading.
