How does Mat Andersson have both the time and the knowledge to answer so much about so much?

Flattery will get you nowhere, but don’t stop trying :)

I read very fast – not at the level of speed readers, but faster than most people.

I type very fast – it’s my job. I type all day. I’m basically as fast as a trained, professional typist was back when such things existed.

I’m nearly compulsively curious. I don’t know anyone else who’s read a 25 volume encyclopedia out of pure curiosity.

If you read my answers, you’ll find that they focus on a handful of topics. Physics and general science, storytelling, current affairs, languages, music, a few periods of history, and parenting. It’s not really “so much”, although my job also has the side effect of making me know a little about some very odd topics, like paper mills, glass rhubarb, automatic milking machines, and bead necklaces.

I’m 58. I’ve had time to collect massive amounts of useless information. And Quora is a place that positively rewards possession of useless information…
