Yes, that is true. That is a small bit of wisdom that was handed down to us from the public trial of Socrates in 399 BCE. He made it very clear in his final speech just before he was sentenced to death by drinking a cup of poisonous hemlock by his fellow Athenians. Paraphrasing he said: “If I am wiser than other men it is because I alone understand that I know next to nothing.”
