Can it be true that knowledge increases in proportion to its use, that is, the more we teach the more that we learn?

This question confuses me - using knowledge implies doing or thinking something. Teaching it does not.

If you teach the same old thing you will learn nothing. Use,, or experience, usually improves our knowledge.
