What are the consequences of having too much knowledge on a subject or topic of interest? How does one know if they've reached that point?

You cannot have too much knowledge about anything. It's what you do with that knowledge that gains respect from others. Bragging about how smart you are only makes you look stupid, and no one respects an idiot who thinks he's smart.
