Would a hiring manager accept my online degree if I obtain one?

It is totally up to each individual firm what they do and don’t want, will or will not accept. Some will not require a degree at all. Others, particularly if there’s a lot of competition for the positions as in high-end sought after firms, may pick candidates from only higher end universities.

As long as your degree is a valid degree from a valid and (in the US) accredited institution, it should be generally acceptable. But again, up to the boss. Unaccredited degrees (there are still a few) or degrees from obscure schools in other countries are generally are worthless.
